I can understand that seeing blood in your urine can be alarming. While in many instances the cause is harmless, blood in urine (hematuria) can indicate a serious disorder.
In hematuria, your kidneys—or other parts of your urinary tract—allow blood cells to leak into urine. Various problems can cause this leakage, including urinary tract infection, bladder or kidney stones, enlarged prostate, cancer.
Some medicines such as cyclophosphamide and penicillin can also cause blood in urine. Please make an appointment to see a doctor if hematuria persists.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma,
